What. A. Game: Raiders Varsity Baseball
Tuesday night, May 20th, was one to remember as the Boys Varsity Raiders Baseball team pulled off an incredible walk-off win against RFA, 5–4, on a Senior Night!
Before a single pitch was thrown, the evening was already special thanks to the incredible efforts of the Proctor Baseball Boosters, who went above and beyond to honor the senior players. Banners featuring each player hung proudly from the dugout, and emotional announcements were made as each senior walked the field with their family. A stunning photo tribute lined the fence, recreating these players journey from their very first games to the proud young men on the field today.
Congratulations to our 2025 seniors: #2 Dominick Nieves, #4 Anthony Marino, #6 Jaadiell Romero, #7 Radhames Emaniel, #19 Reece Jantzi, #3 Joseph Marino, #8 Daniel Paul, #15 Jose Rodriguez-Martinez, and #12 Denisio Colon!
Then came the game — and what a finish!
Down 4–3 in the bottom of the 7th, Anthony Marino came up clutch with a game-winning single that drove in two runs. The moment he hit it, the energy exploded — fans cheered, teammates stormed the field, and Marino got the ultimate celebration: a bucket of ice water over his head.
The Raiders were dialed in all night, racking up 11 hits and showing serious heart at the plate. Marino, Radhames Emaniel, Daniel DePaul, and George Garrett each drove in runs. On the mound, Eliel Guzman Garcia pitched four solid innings before Dominick Nieves came in and threw three scoreless to close it out. Jaadiell Romero showed great plate discipline with two walks, and the whole team showed patience and hustle — drawing seven walks and stealing bases to keep the pressure on.
Congratulations to our seniors — and hats off to the entire Raiders squad — this one’s going in the memory books!
