Jefferson's Annual Welcome Back Carnival

What a wonderful way to kick off a new school year! On September 25, Jefferson celebrated the return of our students with our annual Welcome Back Carnival, bringing together students, families, local businesses and community partners for a day filled with excitement, smiles and plenty of fun.

More than 32 local companies joined us for the celebration, setting up booths and welcoming students with a variety of exciting giveaways. Students received everything from socks, pencils, candy, shirts and bracelets to many other fun surprises. Every student was also given a special Jefferson 2026 Carnival bag to collect all their goodies throughout the day.

The community fun continued with some very special visitors. The Utica Fire Department brought a ladder truck, giving students the opportunity to climb aboard and sit inside. The Sheriff's Office also joined the festivities, bringing a drone that was flown over the carnival so students could see it in action. These hands-on experiences gave our students a chance to interact with members of our local community and learn more about the important work they do.

Of course, no carnival would be complete without plenty of treats! Students enjoyed popcorn, cotton candy and ice cream while taking part in the many activities throughout the event. The Mobile Museum provided even more opportunities for students to run, play, explore and simply enjoy being together with their friends.

One of the most special parts of the day was seeing so many parents and families attend and share this memorable experience with their children. Their presence helped make the celebration even more meaningful and showed the wonderful sense of community that makes Jefferson such a special place.

The Jefferson Welcome Back Carnival was truly a tremendous success. From generous local businesses and community organizations to our staff, families and volunteers, so many people came together to make this celebration possible.

Most importantly, our students had an amazing time. Welcome back, Jefferson—here's to a fantastic year ahead!
